Conveying Bad News Regarding Price Increases

Frustrating News.jpg

I have written in past blog entries of the inevitablitiy that the volatile fish oil market would see significant price increases in early 2008. Although, I hadn't envisioned that the increase would be THIS early and THIS significant. Ocean Omega was informed today ( as we actually were placing an order from our source supplier), that we have incurred a dramatic price increase.

EVERYTHING IS CONSTANTLY GOING UP IN PRICE
food price increases pic.jpgWorld fish oil manufacturing prices skyrocketed during the past three months and even reached an average record level in November. World production and supplies cannot keep pace with increasing fish oil requirements....

For Oct/Sept 2007/08 industry analysts estimate world fish oil production to virtually possibly stagnate to a very large degree. World production and supplies cannot keep pace with increasing fish oil requirements - both for food, human and pet nutrition, and aquaculture production. This will continue to keep fish oil prices well above average also in 2008. Manufacturers will charge significantly higher average prices throughout 2008.....

Customers are becoming conditioned to both the need to raise prices and the
reasons for raising them. Still, for distributors, it's a tough scenario.

So, what's to blame for today's price increases? According to economists and
consultants, they're attributable to a global economic "perfect storm" that's
not just affecting fish oil product prices. The rising cost of steel,
plastics (resins), fuel, and shipping trickle down and affect
the cost of Ocean Omega supplies. Similarly, the United States must contend with the increasing raw materials demand from other countries such as China,
which drives up those costs.

When raw materials prices shoot up, every industry's prices are affected

The typical price hike notification sparks a complicated chain of events for
distributors such as ourselves, who must update pricing schedules, deliver the
unwelcome news to customers, and often, rethink the way we MUST pass along
costs. If we were lucky, we would have received a month's notice from the manufacturer before the increase actually had already taken effect.

A price increase is handed down from manufacturer to distributor for a specific product, the end user must unfortunately pay more for that product.
The process itself can be a challenge.

Informing the customer of the increase is no easy task, either. While
occasional price increases are expected, nobody wants to pay more. Customers
Most customers realize [prices] are going to go up, but when they continually go up many times in a short period of time, everybody suffers.

Everything you use has incurred some form of inflationary pricing,
there is little distributors can do when the entire marketplace is
experiencing rapid price increases. While manufacturers may absorb a greater
portion than distributors may have guessed, distributors don't have much
choice but to accept what their manufacturers pass down in the way of
increases.

Shopping Around

One consequence of raising end users' prices can be increased instances of
price "shopping" to the competition. Though this can be nerve-wracking for
distributors who worry about their competitors undercutting their pricing,
in today's economy, end users are finding that similar price increases have
gone into effect for other distributors, as well.

They're running a business just like we are. Our competitors will be having the same price increases as we do, and they too will have to deal with them.

More so why we will have to enhance the opportunity to reiterate the value we bring to the customer versus our competitors. My position gets more challenging daily, as we now have to reassess programs that we just instituted to save our clients money. Our price increases will be going into effect VERY SOON more to come as to how I will continue to attempt to devise cost savings programs to try and abate these impending price increases of our fish oil!New Product diversification is high on our priority board.

Even Chickens are Reaping The Benefits of Ocean Omega Fish Oil

Omega Eggs.jpgOmega Eggs Nutrition Facts.jpghens.jpg
Quote from an Ocean Omega Client
"On another note I have been feeding the chickens Ocean Omega Fish Oil in a mash.
They are very large fluffy chickens with the cutest butts and the eggs are so rich from the organic feed and Ocean Omega Fish Oil . As most of you know I have been raising chickens for eggs only and have used Omega 3 for my hens. They are big and fluffy and very healthy. They are producing lots of big rich eggs. These eggs are fed to my dogs and me and some of my friends buy the excess of which there is much. This has been a fun project and while it has not been done for income the hens have earned a few dollars and their money will be used in the Springtime to enlarge their grazing area and buy them some red worms. These worms will be in the raised garden beds to enhance the soil and will also be fed to the chickens as they earned them.

The interesting thing about this project is now one of my close friends in Texas is now going to do the same thing. She has ordered her chicks and is now in the process of building a coop/yard for them.

The cost of eggs in the stores is climbing almost every day. These eggs are storage eggs and are not fresh. They cost a lot and are usable but the difference between a fresh egg and a cold storage egg is major.

We tend to overlook the value of the egg. It is an almost perfect food.

There are no animals that are not important including the lowly chicken. We fancy ourselves as being at the top of the food chain but I have to wonder as we offer nothing of value to the system. We are predators and therefore claim the prize but the lowly chicken produces an egg that sustains life. "

Will Be Available in Gallon and 1 Qt. Sizes!

Glucosamine Plus addresses healthy joints like no other formula. It contains nutrients for healthy cartilage, bones, tendons, and ligaments. For long-term joint health and range of motion, no other Glucosamine formula is more complete!

Glucosamine is easily absorbed and contains vital nutrients needed for healthy joints. It promotes production of the fluid that lubricates joints and inhibits the cells that cause inflammation. Ocean Omegas' glucosamine is derived from grain, for horses with allergies or owners who prefer a vegetable source instead of shellfish.

Chondroitin is used to lubricate joints and often combined with Glucosamine for a synergistic effect. Research has shown that MSM has anti-inflammatory properties. When combined with Glucosamine, the organic sulfur from MSM helps stabilize joint cartilage and protects it from damage.

Manganese is a cofactor needed for the production of mucopolysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans) essential for joint lubrication. Grape Seed Extract is a powerful antioxidant that works synergistically with Glucosamine and MSM.

Glucosamine Plus contains natural Silica from Horsetail herb, plus the amino acid Proline to promote strong connective tissues. Boron is added to aid in Calcium absorption and bone density. These nutrients add an extra dimension in supporting joint health.

Ocean Omega Healthy Products for your Cat

Oil_in_da_Cat2-237x120.jpg

Hepatic lipidosis, also known as fatty liver syndrome, is an accumulation of fat in the liver and is a very common and very serious occurrence in fat cats who are not eating. This disease is deadly if not addressed, but almost always treatable and curable when presented to a veterinarian in its early stages.

Why would a fat cat not be eating? Ideas: "Bad teeth." "Intestinal blockage" "Stress." Cats like their food because they can smell it. So if a cat can't smell its food, it's not going to eat. What could cause a cat to lose its sense of smell? Answer:Upper respiratory infection.

Absolutely. Cats get upper respiratory infections all the time. So you have a fat cat that gets the flu and can't smell. The cat stops eating. What is the body's reaction going to be? Answer:Mobilization of fat to the liver.

You have anorexia in the presence of abundant fat stores. The body will try to feed itself by moving body fat stores to the liver to be converted into fuel. The liver can't handle this fatty saturation and liver dysfunction ensues . This doesn't happen to thin cats. They don't have enough fat available to mobilize and create this problem.

If your cat got an upper respiratory infection and stopped eating, he/she would be a prime candidate for hepatic lipidosis. If you don't bring your pet into a vet and the cat gets hepatic lipidosis, death is likely.

You can hospitalize the cat and feed it through a tube. You could also encourage eating utilizing our Ocean Omega Gold, which has a slight aromatic essence of fish, to be added to your cats food-something your cat could sniff through its cold. Smearing some food with our fish oil added; on a paw is another means of encouragement. Even if your cat will not eat, it will still clean itself.

After your cat has recovered from hepatic lipidosis or before your fat cat gets hepatic lipidosis, you should put your cat on a veterinarian-recommended low-calorie diet.Encourage exercise via catnip or toys. Monitor your cat's intake carefully in times of stress (for example, the addition of a new pet). Weigh your cat weekly to make sure it is losing weight.

By slimming your cat down, you could save him from hepatic lipidosis and other life-threatening diseases related to cat obesity.

Millions of obese pets mirror the American obesity epidemic
According to the American Association of Obesity, 64.5% of adult Americans (about 127 million) are categorized as being overweight or obese. But this epidemic isn't just affecting humans. More than 40% of American household pets are overweight or obese, leading to a steady rise in insurance claims for pet illnesses that can be obesity-related, according to actuarial data released by Veterinary Pet Insurance Co./DVM Insurance Agency (VPI), the nation's oldest and largest health insurance provider for pets.

It's shocking to learn that overweight owners are three times more likely to have overweight pets. Pets are becoming obese by the millions, and as Americans continue to adopt a more sedentary and pampered lifestyle, so will our pets. Along with this increase in weight, VPI is seeing an increase in claims for pet illnesses that are often obesity-related, such as diabetes.”

According to most recent data, there has been an annual steady climb in the percentage of total claims that relate to the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus.bottle oil in the cat.jpgPlus_G_Cat-240x166 Feline Gluco.jpgauto ship.jpg

Ocean Omega Sea Vegetables for Pet Nutrients

Marine PhytoChemicals Ocean Omega Sea Vegetables

We are exploring options to perhaps soon provide Sea Vegetables from the cold waters of our own Maine Seacoast, to add to our array of holistic pet healthcare products.

The body of our pets can be a self-healing mechanism given the proper raw
materials. There is no silver bullet for any chronic disease. One must
systematically turn on the animals brain's neurochemicals to activate the
pituitary that activates the endocrine system that controls the rest of the
organs. The pets immune system must be prompted to clean the liver and
gall bladder and get it able to eliminate toxins. Most of these vasculitis
syndromes are due to toxins that the liver can't excrete. Then you must
supply the animals body with total nutrition so it can rebuild itself.
"Phytochemicals" in kelp and other sea vegetables have been shown to absorb
and eliminate radioactive elements and heavy metal contaminants from the
body, as well as reduce the
onset, frequency and size of tumors in laboratory experiments.

The nutrients in cultivated marine phytoplankton contain a wide range of trace elements, vitamins, organic minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, enzymes, carotenoids, chlorophyll, and cellular material not found in other super green foods, including many important elements that are now deficient in the animals body, such as selenium and sulfur. They are also a source of those essential Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.

Consuming even a small amount of phytonutrients from marine phytoplankton per day enhances your body's ability to regain its natural state of health.

Phytonutrients from Marine Phytoplankton offer potentially promising effects in animal physiology.

Sea Kelp.jpg

Kelp:intensely rich in minerals and trace elements,is highest in iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and offers substantial amounts of Vit. B's.

dulse.jpg

Dulse: is a good source of vegetable protein, iron, potassium, magnesium,
iodine, chlorophyll, enzymes, Vitamin A, Vitamin B's, and dietary fiber

laver.jpg

Laver: is the highest in Vitamins B1, B6, B12, C, and E, and contains
significant amounts of vegetable protein, fiber, Iron, and other minerals
and trace elements.

alaria.jpg

Alaria: is a good dietary source of Vitamin A, [beta carotene], iron,
potassium, magnesium, chlorophyll, enzymes, trace elements, Vitamin B's and
dietary fiber

Sea vegetables are rich in minerals and trace elements, including calcium,
magnesium, iron, potassium, iodine, manganese, chromium and more, at levels
much greater than those found in land vegetables. Sea veggies also provide
vitamins, fiber, enzymes, and high quality protein. Marine phytochemicals
found only in sea vegetables have been shown to absorb and eliminate
radioactive elements and heavy metal contaminants from our bodies. Other
recent research demonstrates the inhibition of tumor formation, reduction of
cholesterol, and anti-viral properties of sea vegetables.

Sea vegetables are wild ocean plants, or marine algae, enjoyed daily as
staple and healing foods in many coastal parts of the world. Small amounts
of sea veggies add a rich flavor and enhance the nutritional value of most
dishes. Popular American sea vegetables are Dulse, Kelp, Alaria, Laver, from
the east coast, and Sea Palm from the west coast. Asian varieties include
Nori, Hiziki, Arame, Kombu and Wakame.

Sea weed is yet another nutrient rich source for pet food supplementation.Nourishing Animals with Sea Vegetables
has been known to have included seaweed being fed to house pets.

seaweed 2.jpgseaweed.jpg

We are continually being asked why our Ocean Omega Fish Oil should be considered as a vital pet food supplement: here are some factoids for everyones consideration:

One of the most pressing issues in pet healthcare for the 21st century is nutrition, with obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disorders, and many other pet afflictions becoming more and more prominent, its all linked to their diets. In that aspect, omega-3 will play a major role. Since 1971 there are now some 14,000 published papers on omega-3, including close to 6,000 animal studies.

For three billion years Marine Phytoplankton has supported virtually all living creatures in the ocean. It contains a unique combination of life sustaining nutrients including; Omega 3 essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA), protein, chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Phytoplankton are the food source utilized by some of the world's largest and longest living animals and fish. Menhaden are gill raking fish that eat phytoplankton.

Menhaden is a natural food source for blue whales, humpbacks, baleen whales and more species of fish, that all eat plankton ,and they live between 80-150 years while maintaining great strength and endurance and are sexually active and able to reproduce until they die. The menhaden is the most important fish in the sea if you understand its ecological purpose.

In addition to providing high protein fish oil, the menhaden are also extremely rich in desirable long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids. It is no wonder that menhaden is an ingredient in many of the better dog foods. With concentrated, high quality protein for growth and vigorous maintenance, and rich in Omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy cardiovascular system, supple skin and glossy coat, menhaden earns it's reputation as a vital ocean food source.
That is why this fish from its natural sources is of superior quality when compared with fish from farms.

Because it lives solely on phytoplankton, the menhaden is a "clean" fish. And, because it is preyed upon by most everything in the sea, it has evolved into a strong and fast swimmer meaning good muscle mass, and therefore has concentrated protein. Our high quality and competitively priced Ocean Omega-3 Fish Oil which is not normally found in other pricier cold-water fishes can of course be perceived as an added bonus. We feel as though if we are able to perhaps provide these sea vegetables , in combination with our fish oil and glucosamine products, that this will serve to enhance optimum pet healthcare supplementation.

Cats and dogs need broad-based mineral support just as we do. They also benefit from chelated, colloidal minerals as opposed to the inorganic salts that leave a free metal ion in the digestive track. They may also be attracted to the highly utilizable protein in most sea veggies. And they probably need those minute quantities of trace minerals just as we do. Seaweed has been studied as a combatant in animal hemolytic anemia.

We once again ask for the assistance of readers of our blog ; to respond with personal experiences with such sea vegetable nutrients as it would apply to their own pets. We also would encourage inquiries as to interest level of seeing Ocean Omega perhaps adding these products to our breadth of holistic pet food supplementation.

Ocean Omega The Costs Of Pretty Packaging

Current Specials

SEE OUR WEBSITE AND PREVIOUS ENTRIES IN THIS BLOG FOR DETAILS ABOUT A 15% SAVINGS Visit Us and Save Money Now!

One of the major hurdles Ocean Omega is encountering as we broach seeking more retail venues is; battling the high cost of raw materials and packaging. I am working on setting examples of how our distributorship could overcome the problem and grab a decent share of retail markets. The major dilemna at hand is
Abstract:Changing and Upgrading Packaging for Retail Exposure.

Differentiation and branding of fish oil and pet healthcare products have created interest in the potential for Ocean Omega to consider how to best invest further up the fish oil supply chain to capture a greater share of the consumer's dollar. However, the ultimate success of our distributor-owned ventures will depend on our ability to identify market opportunities and execute merchandising strategies to maintain sales of a competitive product in a commodity market environment.

Application title – brand name: Ocean Omega Fish Oil For Pets

Applicant company: Ocean Omega

Brand owner: Ocean Omega BH Sales

Category:Fish Oil For Pets: Pet Nutrition

Project scale: 1 national 1 regional 1 local

Marketing goal

Specify clear goals and tasks of the project. For example, to occupy a certain market share; to increase sales among the target group representatives; to achieve a certain level of brand perception; to change the present attitude towards the brand; to achieve a certain level of brand awareness; to encourage brand loyalty, to increase the number of those who have used the product, etc.

1.) Strengthening Ocean Omegas’ positions in the segment of fish oil for pets , growth of sales by the rates exceeding the growth of the market (the forecast for the market growth in 2008 is +6%), increase of weighed distribution up to a level not below 45 % with focus on quality of distribution with using of non-standard POSM ( Point of Sales Materials ).

2.) Increase the Ocean Omega brand awareness among the target audience up to 60 % and positioning the brand as a fish oil of supreme quality and worth. Growth of the following image characteristics: as it will pertain to SOME retail venues: the points of consideration include changing packaging to accommodate: “Stylish brand”, “Sophisticated brand” and “Brand which is worth paying more for".

3.) The launch of a new SKU in bottles with a new label to strengthen the emotional appeal to the brand “Ocean Omega” as a fish oil of supreme quality and worth, emphasizing the sophistication of the consumer. In the months after a tentative launch of such a campaign we would hope to see the the share of the new SKU not less than 10 % from the total brand volume and the weighted distribution not less than 8% .

4. ) Strengthening the link between Ocean Omega and the world of retail based venues based on the current brand’s positioning as a fish oil with bright individuality. Growth of the image indicator the "Brand connected with the world of fish oils".

The entries above are some marketing jargon that basically breaks down to this: how we are forced to slowly progress to a difference in bottling and labeling, reflective of high costs incurred when working with a modest shoe string budget.

Fancy Bottles.jpg

Although it is quite true that eye catching packaging and labeling definitely have a place when comprising being placed on a retail venues' shelving, which is more matriculated when there are already several other fish oils being displayed. However, our dilemna remains how to accomplish this moving forward without DRAMATICALLY passing on the costs of expensive labels and bottling to "pretty up" the outward appearance, without inflating the price of the contents within significantly?

This is even more so where our website and Ocean Omega Blog and Passionate Pet Lovers Message Board will play an integral role in our growth and development. We have to secure the fact that clients believe that the product within is a superior product at a fair and reasonable price, and perhaps concede that the product at this juncture isn't necessarily in the Touchie, Glitzy Make You All Warm and Fuzzy Packaging.

Our first process has been in place for several months now, a new label which conveys pertinent information, the upgrading of both the bottles and labels is in a "phase in mode", contingent on available funds moving forward.

Pretty Packaging.jpgretail shelving.jpg

With a full money back guarantee; we simply ask "close your eyes" open the bottle and use the product-if you are happy with what the results are for your pet, please take solace in knowing the fact that someday we will have it in a bright and fuzzy package which will enhance our opportunities for retail venue dissemination then we will not only have the best fish oil out there, but perhaps the prettiest packaging also.

Ocean Omega New Feline Glucosamine

OCEAN
OMEGA ADDING NEW FELINE GLUCOSAMINE PRODUCT

felinegluc.jpgcatsuppfact.gifcat-comparison.jpg

We our pleased to announce a special introductory offer on our newest product Glucosamine Plus For Felines:OUR NEW PRODUCT WILL BE ADDED TO OUR WEBSITE SOON

LOOK FOR OUR UPCOMING ENTRY ON OUR WEB at this link to our ordering page Order the Glucosamine Plus combined with any size bottles of our fish oil together and we will take 15 % off the total price of your order! We are also offering our new product by the 16 oz bottle for $16.95

Glucosamine is a substance that naturally occurs in healthy joints. As cats get older, their body seems to make less of it. It is the same thing with your body. This lower production of Glucosamine can lead to joint pain. When you give your cat Glucosamine to make up for the deficit, you are promoting healthy joints. Because a cats body is familiar with Glucosamine, it is easily absorbed. It also contains vital nutrients that joints can use to stay healthy. And, of course, the nice thing about our Glucosamine is that it is from a vegetable source and not shellfish. The Apple Cider Vinegar contained within this product is a great digestive and immune system promoter as well.

cranky cat.jpglazy cat.jpginactive cat.jpg

Is your cat cranky? Lazy? or inactive? Truthfully, it may not be any of those at all. It may mean that he is just simply in pain! Joint pain in cats is a major problem. And can lead to weight gain, lack of energy and even affect their overall mood!

ENP’s Glucosamine Plus for Cats is specifically designed for Cats! It contains nutrients for healthy cartilage, bones, tendons, and ligaments. For long-term joint health and range of motion, no other “Glucosamine” formula is more complete!

Your Cat’s joints are the same as your joints; they are made up of 4 major components: cartilage, fluid, tendons and ligaments.

Cartilage is the cushioning between the bones that act as shock absorbers. The building block of healthy cartilage is glucosamine. Just like you, your cat ’s body naturally produces glucosamine. As your pet ages it’s body gradually produces less glucosamine and the cartilage between the joint can deteriorate, leaving your cat in pain. When you give your pet glucosamine you are replacing this deficit and promoting healthy joints.

Fluid is also needed to lubricate the joint and allow it to move freely. Chondroitin and Manganese do this by drawing fluid in around the joints and help to keep it there.

Tendons and Ligaments are the components most joint supplements forget about! Tendons and ligaments are a vital part of the joint. ENP includes ingredients like Horsetail, Proline, Boron and Grape Seed to promote stronger, healthier connective tissue.

Another aspect to consider is the pain and inflammation that can be associated with joint problems. We also include MSM in our formula. Research has shown that MSM has strong anti-inflammatory properties, helping to put your pet at ease while the other nutrients go to work.

Our Glucosamine Plus is the PURR-Fect solution for your cats joint problems!

Ocean Omega Striving For Superior Customer Service

Everyone Promises Great Service.jpg

OCEAN OMEGA DELIVERS ON OUR PROMISE

Ocean Omega is a small business, and in my capacity as both a Co-Owner and Sales & Marketing Director, I take heed that we have a fighting chance of survival if we treat our customers right! We may not have the huge capital, the best technology ,or the hype and publicity of the "big" boys, However, we can still compete effectively online by focusing on our customers, figuring out what they want and need and making life easier for them. Focusing on getting the basics right: superior service leads to satisfied customers; satisfied customers
lead to referrals and referrals are the most effective way to build a wide
customer base.

Our companys mission is to provide a great customer experience.

We must commit ourselves to creating the best possible customer experience
for our site. Some brick-and-mortar organizations making a crossover to
e-commerce have ingrained behaviors and attitudes that hinder delivering
superior customer service. Building a greater customer experience is not an
event, but a continuous process towards online success.

Customer Retention.jpg

It has been my experience in over thirty years of sales & marketing, that if our small pet healthcare business strives for excellence by practicing and providing the above listed tenets, the devoted customers, who truly seek the best for their pets health and well being, will come to recognize that this is what separates us from our competition. I would encourage readers of this blog who have come to know us to please voice their opinions.

Record-high levels of oil prices are causing small business owners to re-think their business strategies. The increase in the cost of petroleum for our Ocean Omega business has become ever increasingly difficult in trying to stay competitive with shipping fees. We empirically study the effects of shipping fees and marketing activities on customer acquisition, customer retention, and average expenditures using data from our online transactions.

Transportation costs are rising, as is the cost of plastic bottles and
caps, which are made from crude. Rising gasoline prices affect both
individual consumers and businesses, but small businesses often get hit
hardest. Small businesses often don't have much of a financial reserve to
cover rapid increases in their cost of doing business.

It has been continually hard to maintain our quality level and not raise
prices.Rising oil prices have affected not only our delivery costs; but it
has also affected just about all our costs:The distributors are charging us more
because their costs are higher as a result of rising oil prices. When we
first began we did not charge for delivery, and then when the first gas
prices began to climb, we began charging for delivery to help compensate for
the expenses. We try not to pass the increase on to our customers. Therefore,
we still absorb a portion of the shipping charges of all of our orders being
processed.

I'm a customer also, and I also get tired of always having to pay more because
things are out of control. While we realize everyone is dealing with the same problem, the larger corporation is able to pass the increase on to their customers. If we were to do this at their same rate, we would not have customers to pass the cost onto for very long.

This is why we constantly strive to formulate special pricing, auto ship
programs, seasonal specials, multiple product discounts, and offer our fish
oil in larger size containers at a deeply discounted dollar figure to continue to provide a superlative product at competitive prices. The task at hand gets ever increasingly difficult.

Ocean Omega Being Asked About Start Up Businesses Online

How To Create Ones Own Home-Based Website Business

One of the readers of this blog, and someone who has investigated our Ocean Omega website, recently sent me a private e mail asking for advice on how to implement starting an on-line website business.I must start out by stating I do not claim to be an expert in this arena by any stretch of the imagination. I am willing to share what I have tried to accomplish over the last decade in starting, establishing, and continually promoting my own home based endeavors. I might also add that this is obviously an on-going saga for me. I have started out as a sole proprietor some 10+ years ago, and my present venture is with a business partner. The variables are complex and taxing to say the least , and one always has to be prepared with a contingency plan, as I have found nothing stays the same forever. In comparison to traditional brick and mortar businesses, online website commerce requires to some degree minimal start-up costs and is relatively low-risk. However, it is not a simple process, neither does it come with any guarantees of future success.

Find Your Niche

A good starting point is to find something that you yourself are passionate about, your niche if you will. Hobbies and interests can serve as potential business ideas. If you love cooking, for example, consider selling cooking supplies, recipes, etc online. Focusing on your expertise or something you have great passion for would give you an advantage over competitors who do not have in-depth knowledge of that niche.

Research Your Topics

Once you've whittled down a few ideas, explore each one further. Ask yourself some probing questions: How many people are looking for your services? Where do they go and find people like yourself? How many searches are created for your product or service on Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines? Budget constraints and start up costs can in and of themselves be a major deterrent when trying to establish ones self. You may find it safer and cheaper to go where the demand already exists.

Investigate what competitors are doing and how they are doing it

Thorough research can become an immediate asset. Take the time to surf the web, investigate websites, blogs, articles, and any other sources of information pertaining to your topic, and compare others' products and services.

Write your business plan and remain vigilant and perservere in your endeavors

You want to have a foolproof business plan for your business. Work out a detailed formula - including your site theme, goals, and business strategies. Assimilate and retain accurate records of expenditures, sales, profits etc. Distinguish yourself to gain distance between your competition and your upstart business. Develop plans that set you apart from your competitors and makes you stand out from the crowd!
You'll want your website content to target specific keywords for high search engines ranking and traffic flow. This can be done by creating informative articles, product reviews, descriptions and comparisons.
A search on Google for web hosting should bring up hundreds of companies ready to do business with you. Select a reliable web host that provides adequate disk space and bandwidth with e-commerce scripts supporting features.
Implement a Shopping Cart

An online website site is never complete without a secure shopping cart.

Marketing and Promotion

When you have identified your niche, set up your website and give it a go. Promoting your website could be a full-time career option for most people.
Begin by submitting your site to major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and others. You also need to optimize your site using profitable keywords and keyword-rich content. There are lots more business promotion strategies such as advertising, link exchange, networking, e mail promotional campaigns, etc. which you may need to explore to create your online presence and build traffic.

Setting up your website is a lot of work, and it's only the first step. Making it successful is even more work, but the pay-offs can be rewarding. Remember, it does take extremely hard work and a very strong willed constitution to seek success!

I hope this information in some way is beneficial in determining ones efforts for implementation--good luck to all!

Ocean Omega: 2008 New Years Resolutions For Your Pets

Happy New Year.gif Natural Nutritional Diets for Dogs and Cats

Consider A Natural Nutritional Diet for Dogs and Cats

As we enter the first day of the New Year 2008, the new day should bring consideration to what nutritional changes you will incorporate into your pets diet. When you reflect back on last years events with the tainted pet food debocle coming to a head, I would once again encourage pet owners to have their pets consume fewer processed foods and rely more on unadulterated natural ingredients in their meals.Of course I will self serve in that I would highly recommend our Ocean Omega Fish Oil as a key ingredient to be included in any raw food diet.Surely, our beloved animal companions are entitled to enjoy an optimal quality of life.

Why does the quality of pet food make a difference in your pet's health? Because food is body fuel and a quality life does not exist without it. The strength of your pet's immune system, its resistance to disease, and its quality of life all depend on the food that your pet eats. Most commercial pet food products are derived from the waste materials of our food industry. As I have alluded to in previous articles in this blog, many processed pet foods actually contain animal parts, which include diseased along with cancerous tissue and non-food items, euthanized pets including the euthanasia chemicals, preservatives, mold, fungi, and rancid fat. Most cooked products lack vital enzymes and they do not provide a healthy variety. The pet food industry to a large degree remains an unregulated entity without good quality control or stringent guidelines being enforced upon them. Read the product labels for ingredients and ponder if you would want to eat these products yourself. Would you provide them for your family, day after day, year after year, for their entire life? Common sense and ever increasing pet food product knowledge will continue to prove that our pets must eat a wide variety of fresh, wholesome foods to enjoy good health.

Until the last few years, most people have shared their own food with their dogs and cats. Common sense would dictate that it is no coincidence that our pets today are suffering from an epidemic of ill health with many of the same diseases as their human caretakers conducive to what is in their diets.

All species of animals have been shaped through many years of evolution to thrive in good health by eating specific foods. These food requirements vary with each species. To coincide with this evolution, the digestive make up of our domesticated dogs and cats is still identical to that of their wild relatives. The physiology of dogs and cats is that of being carnivores. Here's where a balanced diet should take place, do not feed an all meat diet. Carnivores such as our dogs and cats have evolved to derive their needed nutrients from eating other animals; including their preys bones, organs, and stomach contents, all raw. However, we should also consider the afore mentioned balance of ingredients to include other sources of vital nutrients

Contrasts in health between dogs and cats fed a cooked food diet and dogs and cats fed a raw food diet are readily apparent in their ultimate results. The dogs and cats on the raw food diet will thrive in good health, diminishing the need of veterinary care. Wild carnivores do not cook their food. Their entire physiology is designed to eat raw food. The closer we can simulate a natural wild diet, including a variety of species-appropriate raw foods, the closer we will be in providing nutrients in the form that our animal companions must have to enjoy good health. Making a well-designed homemade diet is the next best thing.

A few of the benefits of feeding a species-appropriate diet of raw foods as well as other nutrient natural food stuffs to your dog or cat include: stronger disease and parasite resistance, elimination of bad body odor and breath, healthy skin and coat, improved digestion, and the satisfaction of knowing exactly what your pet is eating. Switching our pets to a raw food diet should facilitate them enjoying the optimum quality of life that they deserve.
