Whats in The Fish Oil?
Ocean Omega has experienced another growth spurt in our numbers of orders and repeat customers. The inquiries at our website have increased by 33% over the last three months.
One of our PRESENT hurdles is trying to avail our potential clients as much product information as we can, especially as it relates to our existing labels on our bottles of OO. Being small proprietors, we had to order a substantial quantity of the OO original product labels, which we are projected to exhaust that supply by the end of August. It is indeed time for an update of information, which will include allocating UPC numbers for our various size bottles.
We have a prototype NEW label in the works, that we have re-tooled, edited and refined, which we hope will be done in mid September or early October.
Ocean Omega Fish Oil is what we perceive to be very competitively priced. Being two small Maine based proprietors , we are trying to update our website and redesign our existing labels with as much product information as we can. We do not have the "deep pockets" for such ventures as some of the large corporations out there, and unfortunately it takes us a bit longer to achieve this mission during our very positive "growing pains syndrome" that we are experiencing..
However, the following contains some of the key information facts that we will be
incorporating into our new labels, combined with more specifics of EPA & DHA
levels , dosage levels, product description, etal.
All of our menhaden fish oil products are safe. Our source supplier has an
ongoing rigorous quality control program supported by independent
third-party labs. Our Ocean Omega products meet all applicable standards set
forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.Our Plus grade oil is GRAS;
food grade approved; as an additive for many food stuffs and is acceptable
for human consumption.
The global fish oil industry, including our source supplier, has made
significant investments in product testing and purification technologies as
part of its commitment to safe and wholesome products.
The use of fish oil products has been studied extensively by the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration and other regulators in annual Total Dietary
Surveys. In fact, in a January 15, 2004 statement, FDA said:
"FDA has evaluated data levels of various chemical contaminants, such as
pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls and dioxins in menhaden oil. Based on
these data, FDA finds no basis for a safety concern from food uses of
menhaden oil due to possible bioaccumulation of lipophilic chemical
contaminants in the source fish."
To summarize, our products are safe and meet all regulatory standards
established by the U.S. Food and Drug Agency. These products are not only
safe but an abundance of research supports the health benefits of long chain
omega 3 products.
I wanted to hopefully assist in abating any concerns regarding quality of
our menhaden fish oil product.

Thanks for your comment Angel,
It is always encouraging to know folks are paying attention to similar information regarding the health benefits of menhaden fish oil that they have garnered from other sources, i.e your mention of the medical book and other news sources.
However, I am a tad perplexed with your subliminal intimation and correlation between a catalytic converter in a Subaru and my cats?
Thanks,
BH
