Word-of-Mouth Marketing
What business would not love an effective and free marketing method? Create a buzz by getting your customers to talk about you. There are two easy steps: earn their respect and recommendation and “be interesting or be invisible.”
In the book Word of Mouth Marketing . Andy Sernovitz describes how to create a marketing buzz by getting your customers to talk about you. There are two easy steps: earn their respect and recommendation and “be interesting or be invisible”.
I was reading this book in the waiting room of Royal River Family Care , a business that organically uses the word-of-mouth principles.
1. Be Interesting.
This family practice has two family nurse practitioners as primary care providers. Interesting huh?
2. Make people happy.
When you are sick, you can get an appointment the same day. No one in the office wears those ugly scrubs or hypertension inducing white coats . You are greeted by name and amazingly enough seen at your actual appointment time. This all makes me very happy.
3. Earn trust and respect.
Everyone who walks in the door is treated with respect. Linda Brewster knows her stuff and can quote the medical literature to me. My daughters feel comfortable asking Linda anything. Everyone in her office has earned my trust and respect for their knowledge and her caring manner.
4. Make it easy for people to talk about you.
People talk about business because they like your stuff, feel good about choosing you and because they feel connected. This family practice gives people something to talk about. Does your business?
