Only 75 days Christmas
Although there’s nary a snowflake in sight, it’s coming. Sooner than you think. In fact, if you want to know exactly how many hours before Christmas, you can check here.
The holidays provide a special marketing opportunity to thank your customers and build your brand. How do you let your customers know just how much you value their business in a tasteful, personal way? It’s an opportunity to shine like a creative star or join the masses in sending another popcorn tin.
Here’s a plan to get you done before Thanksgiving Day!
Week 1 – Build your list using either your database or a simple excel file. Break it into three sections: cards, special gift and special, special gift.
Week 2 – Build a budget. If you’re having an open house or holiday party…include that as a line item. Set a separate budget for cards and gifts.
Week 3 – Google for ideas. There’s plenty of great ideas out there that can provide just the right impression. Do you want logo or no-logo? Try sites like www.mainemade.com, www.branders.com or www.gifts.com for gift ideas. Create your own holiday card with the help of your local printer, or online resources such as www.cardsdirect.com or www.modernpostcard.com.
Week 4 – Finalize your choice and budget. Choose the locals if you can. If your company has a nifty product or service, many times you can stretch your budget with a trade with another company who may need your product or service. Now’s a great time to set this up; December 5th is usually a less receptive time.
Week 5 – Place your orders and wait for Santa to come. This is the good part. If space or shelf life is an issue, many times you can put in the order and delay shipping and billing until you're ready to receive merchandise. Just ask.
Whether you thank your customers at Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other holiday throughout the year, your gesture can either build your brand in a positive or negative fashion. Remember, it’s the thought that counts.
