Substance Abuse and Depression in Female Lawyers

A recent newsletter sent out by the MSBA Women's Law Section included some astounding statistics regarding the incidence of depression and addiction in lawyers. The stats were part of an article about a program the group held last fall that explored the "medical and ethical issues facing professional women as a result of depression and addiction."

"It's not your fault"

These are the words that Crossroads for Women clinician Faith Sheehan typically starts off with in the first session of her friends and family educational series. Those 4 words, "it's not your fault," usually draw a sigh of relief to participants.

"Mean Mom" Takes a Stand on No Alcohol Rule

This may not have anything to do with substance abuse and work, but it's still funny ... A woman from Iowa is becoming a bit of a celebrity because of an ad she is running in The Des Moines Register to sell her teenage son's car.
