GARDINER -- The crowds at the A-1 Diner in Gardiner on Thursday and Friday will include more than hungry connoisseurs.

Crews will be filming chef Kenneth Harrison in the kitchen and hearing from diners in booths and on stools for a future feature for The Food Network series "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."

The taping is scheduled between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the diner on Bridge Street.

Harrison will cook with the show host and prepare three signature dishes: black tea-steamed salmon, mojito glazed duck breast and Greek beef roulade.

Harrison described the last dish: "It's flattened flank stuffed with spinach, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers and feta cheese," he said. "These are things that I personally liked and have served well."

Mike Giberson, co-owner of the diner with Neil Andersen, said if hungry eaters show up during filming, "It will be first come, first served."

The men have owned the building, a landmark with its classic diner shape, for 18 years.
